THE LATE BLOOMER

After the removal of a benign brain tumor, a 30-year-old sex therapist (Johnny Simmons) who has never gone through puberty has his world turned upside-down as he's thrown into a whirlwind of physical and emotional changes, all while desperately trying to win over the girl next door. Based on "Man Made: A Memoir of My Body" by Ken Baker.

In the film, Dr. Peter Newmans (Johnny Simmons) works as a sex therapist in an office headed by Caroline (Jane Lynch).  He’s got two well-meaning wingmen in Luke (Beck Bennett) and Rich (Kumail Nanjiani) and his young friend Josh (Blake Cooper).  His suffocating parents James (JK Simmons) and Brenda (Maria Bello) bemoan his lack of a girlfriend.  There’s a perfect candidate in the girl next door, Michelle, (Brittany Snow) but she’s dating a quintessential alpha male.  After Pete’s knocked out in a pick-up basketball game, ER doctors discover his tumor and after it’s taken out, he experiences what would normally be years of puberty in a matter of weeks. Against those odds, can Pete master his raging manhood and get the girl?

The film, directed by Kevin Pollak, in his directorial debut, totes an all-star ensemble cast including: Johnny Simmons (THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD); Maria Bello (PRISONERS, A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE); Brittany Snow (PITCH PERFECT 2); Jane Lynch (Glee, WRECK-IT RALPH); JK Simmons (WHIPLASH, OZ); Kumali Nanjiani (Silicon Valley); Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live); Paul Wesley (Vampire Diaries). Additional cast include Charlotte McKinney (JOE DIRT 2: BEAUTIFUL LOSER); Vanessa Ragland (BANDITOS); Blake Cooper (THE MAZE RUNNER); and Lenora Crichlow (Being Human).
